The 1 Page Synopsis Formula

Most agents expect a synopsis to be no more than a page of text. To fit one page a story is just seven or eight paragraphs, so this plan structure each paragraph of the synopsis.

The set-up and necessary backstory, describe the main character and the conflict as concisely as possible.

The inciting event.

Describe two or three turning points of the story and include their emotional impact.

The climax.

The low moment. The dark point of the story where all seems lost.

The resolution. Describe the story’s ending.
